The building process can be an amazing test of character, especially when things don’t go to plan or are completely outside of your control.
This was certainly the case when a water borer contractor accidentally hit services when drilling in a suburban Malvern block. The build up of pressure resulted in every tap, toilet bowl and shower rose in the residence sprouting thick red mud indiscriminately throughout the beautiful house.
Theo Savvides, Director of 4Walls described the damage as “….like nothing I’ve ever seen in my entire life! Red mud everywhere… what a mess”.
The borer was contracted directly by the client, who was overseas at the time….but due back home in 4 days!
As the clients’ builder, 4Walls managed the clean up operation, and communicated closely with AMG Architects who represented the clients’ whilst they were overseas.
4Walls wasted no time in harnessing all available manpower to clean up the huge mess and minimise any damage to the clients’ property.
Clean up works included extensive professional cleaning, specialist treatment and repair of silk carpet, specialist dry-cleaning of white designer bed-linen, plumbing, drainage works, and painting.
The clients returned to a home that looked exactly the same as they left it, and a full report from AMG Architects and Four Walls as to what had occurred and the rectification works. The clients were relieved and grateful that 4Walls took the initiative and managed the rectification works so dutifully and professionally.
